Las Vegas, Nevada (January 31, 2012)--Webb Simpson is the Las Vegas golf odds favorite to win the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com released him as a 15/1 betting favorite following by a group at 20/1. Among those at 20/1 were Matt Kuchar, Las Vegas Golf Region resident Nick Watney and last week's champ, Brandt Snedeker. --By Brian Hurlburt, odds by Jeff Sherman.
Jeff Sherman, the founder of Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com, says that the way Snedeker won the Farmers Insurance Open will have little impact on his game (Snedeker got into a playoff when Kyle Stanley triple bogeyed the 18th hole in the final round). "This is not Snedeker's first win on tour so I don't envision any adverse effects to the circumstances in which he won the Farmers Insurance Open," says Sherman, who is also the assistant director of the Las Vegas Hotel Superbook. "The only thing to be cautious with him is the fact he can be wildly inconsistent, where he finishes top 10 one week then misses the cut the next, and has shown this trend over time."
