Las Vegas, Nevada (February 14, 2012)--According to the Las Vegas golf PGA Tour betting experts, Phil Mickelson is favored to win the Northern Trust Open at the famed Riviera Country Club. But, at what odds he goes off can vary according to Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com Founder Jeff Sherman. He opened Mickelson at 12/1 to win, followed by Luke Donald at 15/1 and Dustin Johnson at 20/1. --By Brian Hurlburt, Odds by Jeff Sherman.
"I am offering the highest odds on the market on Mickelson to win ... he ranges from 8-1 to 10-1 ... but I feel it's a bit of an overadjustment on him when he was in the 20's since the season started," reasons Sherman, the assistant director of the Las Vegas Hotel Superbook (formerly the Hilton). "He put together a fierce final round at Pebble mostly spurred on by playing with Tiger . I don't feel he should be single digit odds and thus it reflects in the individual matchup price where Donald is actually a favorite over Mickelson in that market. Donald's consistency near the top outweighs Mickelson's yet Donald's ability to close out a tournament is not at the level of Mickelson."

Other notables and odds include Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia at 25/1, Las Vegas Golf Region residents Nick Watney and Kevin Na at 30/1, and recent winner Brandt Snedeker 40/1. Hot golfer of the moment Kyle Stanley is 30/1.

Writer Rob Bolton favors Luke Donald followed by Aaron Baddely. Baddely is 30/1 in the betting odds. Mickelson is third in the rankings.
Bolton writes the following about Mickelson: "The all-time money leader at Riviera is a two-time winner (2008, 2009). Also second here in 2007. Coming off a masterful bogey-free 64 to polish off a two-stroke win at Pebble. Missed just one fairway on Sunday. Ranked T3 in GIR and T10 in putting."
