Las Vegas, Nevada (March 6, 2012)--The PGA Tour is quickly becoming one of the most exciting sports on the planet. The stars have aligned and the three biggest names in golf--Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson--each appear to be playing at a high level. And according to the Las Vegas golf betting experts, action on the PGA Tour is hitting record numbers, and the same can be said for the 2012 WGC-Cadillac Championship. --By Brian Hurlburt, Odds By Jeff Sherman.
"The way the top four golfers, oddswise, are playing right now, betting interest on golf is at an all-time high," says Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com Founder Jeff Sherman. "The weekly tournaments are generating more action when the likes of Tiger, McIlroy and Mickelson are involved, and the Masters handle is on pace to shatter last year, which itself was a record."

Sherman went on to say that action on the 2012 Masters will be at levels of an NFL Conference Championship game. And with Lee Westwood joining the fray as a favorite this week, the talent and interest at the top levels of the game is, arguably, at an all-time high. Rory Mc opened as a 7/1 favorite this week, followed by Tiger at 8/1, and Mickelson and Westwood at 12/1.
Rory won the Honda Classic last week, while Mickelson has a win and a playoff loss in 2012. And Tiger has been around the leaders a few times and closed out the Honda with a stunning 62, his lowest round ever in the final round of a PGA Tour event. This week's event will be played at TPC Blue Monster at Doral.
As always, we take a look at the official PGATour.com Power Rankings to see how they compare to the Las Vegas PGA Tour golf betting odds. Rory and Tiger are one and two, while Westwood is fourth and Mickelson is sixth. Of Tiger, Power Rankings expert Rob Bolton writes: "Vaulted 16 spots on the leaderboard at the Honda with a bogey-free 62 on Sunday, finishing with a share of second place. The three-time champ at TPC Blue Monster at Doral hasn't placed outside the top 10 in all eight starts."
