Las Vegas, Nevada (April 25, 2012)--Las Vegas' annual PGA Tour event, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, returns in October. And once again, a major part of the festivities will be the annual Ladies Day. This year, Chief Executive Officer of Paragon Gaming, Diana Bennett, is the keynote speaker for the luncheon on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. The theme is "Kick your heels of." All are invited. --By Brian Hurlburt.
The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open invites the women of Las Vegas to leave their heels at home and don their favorite pair of flats. Lauren Michaels, co-host of KLUC’s The Morning Zoo, will serve as mistress of ceremonies, hosting the luncheon at the Hill, the tournament’s hospitality venue overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes at TPC Summerlin.
Roy Yamaguchi, founder and executive chef of Roy’s, will be on hand to demonstrate how to create his distinct fusions of Hawaiian cuisine while women enjoy the highly anticipated speech from Bennett who is also the co-founder of Paragon Gaming. With the guidance of her father, industry icon William Bennett, she successfully climbed the ladder in a male-dominated industry and now oversees the operations of three prosperous gaming companies.
Visit the official website of the JT Shriners for more Women's Day or other tournament ticketing and information. Las Vegas resident Kevin Na is the defending champion while Henderson resident Nick Watney just missed winning the event.
“We are thrilled to have a woman of Diana’s caliber join us for this unique annual event,” said Fafie Moore, chairman of the Women’s Day committee, in a statement. “Women’s Day is a celebration of the tremendous leaders of Las Vegas while communicating the meaningful mission of the Shriners Hospitals for Children, surrounded by the breathtaking views of TPC Summerlin. Diana’s participation will demonstrate a true passion towards community involvement and the importance of commitment to our local charities.”
Named as one of Great Women in Gaming in 2007 by Casino Enterprise Management, Bennett is a second-generation casino operator beginning her career as an executive of Circus Circus Enterprise’s leadership team. Serving on the boards of I Have A Dream Foundation, Three Square Food Bank and The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Bennett continues to give back to the Las Vegas community. She currently serves as the vice president of the Nevada chapter of the International Women’s Forum, helping prepare future generations of female leaders.
