April 16, 2010--When Phil Mickelson won his third Masters, there was a grizzled Las Vegas Golf Region resident and golf veteran behind the green with tears in his eyes. Butch Harmon, who has worked with Mickelson for about two years and operates his school at Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco Golf Club, was never more happy after a win by one of his players, and Mickelson's caddie thinks this could be just the beginning. February 28, 2010 (Las Vegas, Nevada)--There were two Las Vegas golfers making big noise at the 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open, Rickie Fowler and Scott Piercy. Piercy was racking up birdies on a course where he nearly won a year ago, while Fowler was soaking up the raucous atmosphere for the first time. Piercy's success--he had racked up 18 birdies and two eagles through three rounds--was due in part to working with Greg Labelle, a pro who works out of the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas' Rio Secco Golf Club.--By Brian Hurlburt.

December 14, 2009--Paul Wilson is new to Las Vegas golf, but he's been teaching humans how to swing like machines for many years. And now Wilson is bringing his unique--and simple--human/machine perfect swing philosophy to Bear's Best Las Vegas, a Las Vegas golf course that is the home to 18 of Jack Nicklaus' favorite holes. The Paul Wilson Golf School is now open.

July 20, 2009--Stewart Cink walked to the 18th at Turnberry on his 72nd hole of the Open Championship and drained a birdie putt to post a 2-under par score. Awhile later, Tom Watson approached that same green at 3-under par, but made bogey and allowed Cink to get into a 4-hole playoff. About 45 minutes later, Cink had beaten Watson and made off with the Claret Jug, playing the part of the villian in this Watson fairy tale. And then Cink named his accomplices during the post-round speech and heading the list was Las Vegas golf's Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco Golf Club.

July 7, 2009--Las Vegas' DragonRidge Country Club is a top-level private country club that is tucked into the hills that overlook the Las Vegas valley, and this Las Vegas golf course meanders through the desert mountain terrain. Delightful views and memorable holes dot the course. And now this Las Vegas golf facility is the new home of a Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf that is billed as a complete learning experience complete with the same technology utilized by Tour pros to better their game. The new Las Vegas golf training center is open to DragonRidge members and local and visiting Las Vegas golfers, allowing all access to the Academy and the course. 

December 6, 2008--It's common golf knowledge that Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas' Rio Secco Golf Club, keeps a lesson schedule filled with names such as Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson, Natalie Gulbis, Ernie Els, and a bunch of other top level tour pros. July 15, 2008--It's not news that Las Vegas' Butch Harmon will have several players he works with teeing it up in a major championship this week at the British Open at Royal Birkdale. Among them are Phil Mickelson, former UNLV golfer Adam Scott and Ernie Els, each boasting a legit shot at lifting the Claret Jug. But what could be news for some is that everyday golfers can journey to Las Vegas' Butch Harmon School of Golf to learn from the teacher that Golf Digest has named, through voting by his peers, as the World's Number One Golf Instructor. May 30, 2008--About a month ago, Tiger Woods held his annual Tiger Jam event in Las Vegas that benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation. The event was held just days after his knee surgery, and in this video from ATT Blue Room Sports, you can watch as Tiger Woods and Las Vegas golfer Charley Hoffman give a clinic at Cascata, one of the best Las Vegas golf courses. Tiger serves as the emcee--while on crutches--while Hoffman hits shots, and the two discuss their playing philosophies. Hoffman is known as one of the Tour's funniest guys, and his personality comes through in the video. At one point Hoffman says, "I schedule my events around Tiger's ... I'm going to be playing a lot in the next month." To that Tiger responds dryly: "If that's the case, I'm coming back early!"
