He once recorded a round of 60 at The Las Vegas Country Club during the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational, and this week he is challenging for the title of the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn. He even changed putters, something that was pretty much unthinkable for him to do. But that all went away during round one of the PGA Tour's The Memorial hosted by Jack Nicklaus. Las Vegas, Nevada (May 28, 2011)--It seems like it has been awhile since some Las Vegas golfers on the PGA Tour had a chance to win a tournament. But that could change entering the final rounds of the HP Byron Nelson because Nick Watney and Scott Piercy are well inside the top 10 after two rounds. That is not the case with Las Vegas resident and former UNLV golfer Charley Hoffman who is actively involved in events in Las Vegas and San Diego that benefit his foundation. Las Vegas, Nevada (May 21, 2011)--The only constant is change, as they say, and for former Las Vegas Golf Region resident Adam Scott, that is the case. A couple years ago, the former UNLV golfer ended his teacher-golfer relationship with Las Vegas' Butch Harmon, and now recently he has changed to a belly putter. Now comes word he has parted ways with long-time caddie Tony Navarro, a legend who previously worked with Greg Norman. Las Vegas, Nevada (May 14, 2011)--Vegas golf notes from THE PLAYERS: Nick Watney didn't follow up his first-round 64 at THE PLAYERS the way he would like, but he is still in contention to win golf's fifth major. Las Vegas, Nevada (May 13, 2011)--Nick Watney broke through with an 8-under par 64 in the opening round of THE PLAYERS. Watney recorded 9 birdies and an eagle along the way to the early lead. Watney lives in the Las Vegas Golf Region and works with fellow Las Vegas Golf Region resident Butch Harmon at the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas' Rio Secco Golf Club. Las Vegas, Nevada (April 24, 2011)--Natalie Gulbis has always been more than just an LPGA Tour star. Gulbis, who has lived in the Las Vegas Golf Region for several years, has become a celebrity on and off the course, the most recent evidence of this fact being that she recently hosted--and walked the runway--a poolside fashion show at Trump International in Las Vegas.
