PGA Tour's Rickie Fowler Is Now a Former Las Vegas Golfer

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 26, 2011)--We broke the news that Rickie Fowler was no longer living in Las Vegas last fall, but thought we might just update the news on this matter. Fowler has become just one of many PGA Tour players to make Jupiter, Florida, home. In the process, he left the Las Vegas Golf Region behind. The good news: Fowler left but word is that former UNLV 4-time All-American and PGA Tour champ Ryan Moore has purchased a new home in Las Vegas, after living in Scottsdale for a time (splitting time between is native state of Washington). Fowler was near the top of the leaderboard in his new home state of Florida at the Arnold Palmer Invitational being played this weekend. --By Brian Hurlburt.

Nick Watney Claims First 2011 PGA Tour Win For Las Vegas Golfers

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 14, 2011)--It was only a matter of time before a PGA Tour golfer with strong ties to Las Vegas golf courses won a tournament in 2011. Nick Watney became the first when he played a brilliant final round en route to a win at the World Golf Championships--Cadillac Championship at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral. Watney bested Dustin Johnson by two shots. Both Watney and Johnson work with Las Vegas Golf Region resident Butch Harmon. Las Vegas Golf Region resident Butch Harmon, who has been voted the world's best instructor 10 years running by Golf Digest, works with two of the top four players who are battling to win the PGA Tour's WGC--Cadillac Championship. Las Vegas PGA Tour Golfer Nick Watney Makes Caddie's Hair Grow

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 12, 2011)--Times are tough and now Las Vegas PGA Tour golfer Nick Watney is doing his best to take money out of the pocket of a barber. With every top 10 finish, Watney's caddie, Chad Reynolds, goes another week without a haircut. The two hatched a plan that there would be no haircut for Reynolds until Nick, who moved to Las Vegas to be closer to Las Vegas Golf Region resident and pro Butch Harmon, finishes out of the top 10. Watney has finished in the top 10 in four-straight tournaments and was looking good for a fifth after two rounds of the Cadillac Championship. ESPN Details Death of Las Vegas LPGA Tour Golfer Erica Blasberg

Las Vegas, Nevada (February 27, 2011)--Erica Blasberg had lived in Las Vegas for several years, becoming involved in the community by playing golf at Southern Highlands Golf Club, helping junior golf when she could, and attending other high profile Las Vegas golf events. On May 9, 2010, she committed suicide at her home in Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas. Las Vegas PGA Tour Star Alex Cejka Makes Albatross

Las Vegas, Nevada (February 12, 2011)--Depending on who you ask, the chance of making a double eagle is up to six million to one. But Alex Cejka did just that when he made one on his very first hole of the PGA Tour's Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at the Monterey Peninsula's Shore Course. It was the first time in the history of the PGA Tour that a golfer recorded an albatross on his first hole. Cejka lives in the Las Vegas Golf Region and went on to shoot a 64. Las Vegas' Butch Harmon Is In Phil Mickelson's Corner Again in 2011

Las Vegas, Nevada (January 30, 2011)--Phil Mickelson had a tough year, battling his own disease while also watching as his mom and wife dealt with breast cancer. It seems like much more than a year ago when Mickelson won The Masters. But over the final 13 tournaments in 2010, Mickelson finished in the top 10 just four times. It was safe to say golf wasn't at the top of his priority list, but 2011 is looking bright, and Mickelson was challenging for the win at the Farmers Insurance open in his native hometown of San Diego.
