Las Vegas PGA Tour Player Report: Rebels Adam Scott and Chris Riley Go Low

Las Vegas, Nevada (August 5, 2011)--There are more than 30 tour pros who have strong ties to Las Vegas golf courses. And on Thursday, two of them went seriously low in PGA Tour events. One, Adam Scott, had the lead at the Bridgestone Invitational after going 8-under par while another, Chris Riley, was one shot back at the Reno-Tahoe Open after going 6-under par. --By Brian Hurlburt

Two Butch Harmon Pros Finish Second at British Open Championship

Las Vegas, Nevada (July 18, 2011)--Butch Harmon is one busy dude. Again this week, Harmon had multiple golfers he works with playing in a major championship. Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson finished in a tie for second place. Obviously, that is the second loser, as they say, but still a terrific accomplishment for both. Las Vegas Golfer Nick Watney Posts 62 at PGA Tour AT&T National

Las Vegas, Nevada (July 3, 2011)--For a time this year, Nick Watney was being mentioned as the best golfer on the planet. He had finished in the top 10 a bunch of times in a row, and was playing lights out. He looks like he is back in form after a round of 62 during the third round of the AT&T National. Longtime Tiger Woods Friend Chris Riley Near Lead at PGA Tour AT&T National

Las Vegas, Nevada (July 2, 2011) UPDATE 6 PM PST--Chris Riley, who is near the lead at the AT&T National, is considered a Las Vegas golfer because he played four years at UNLV plus he lived here for several years folllowing his college career. But he grew up the San Diego area, and because of his So. Cal. roots, he got to know Tiger Woods during his younger days plus continued to be friends as they both played the PGA Tour. So it is somewhat fitting that since Tiger isn't playing in his own tournament, a longtime friend has the potential to win the thing. Riley fired a third-round 75.--By Brian Hurlburt

Las Vegas PGA Tour Star Ryan Moore Plays With Jim Calhoun, Michael Bolton

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 26, 2011)--Ryan Moore was a 4-time All-American while playing college golf at UNLV , prior to taking his talents to the PGA Tour. This week he was playing in the Travelers Championship where he played in the pro-am with Jim Calhoun and Michael Bolton. Las Vegas Golf Hall of Famer Tommy Armour III Going Low on PGA Champions Tour

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 12, 2011)--Tommy Armour III grew up in the Las Vegas Golf Region, and is a member of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame. He once recorded a round of 60 at The Las Vegas Country Club during the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational, and this week he is challenging for the title of the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn. Chris Riley Can't Follow Up Stellar Round One Effort at Memorial

Las Vegas, Nevada (June 4, 2011)--Chris Riley has been known as one of the best putters on the PGA Tour, but over the last few years some of the magic has diminished. He even changed putters, something that was pretty much unthinkable for him to do. But that all went away during round one of the PGA Tour's The Memorial hosted by Jack Nicklaus.
